Advanced Flat Moulds Workshop

Join Stuart Bray for an intensive three day workshop exploring the complete flat mould process used in professional prosthetics and casualty makeup. Students will sculpt their own wounds and scars using plasteline, learning how to create realistic textures, shapes, and injury details suitable for film and television work.

The course will then guide students through the process of casting flat moulds, turning their original sculptures into reusable moulds for multiple applications. Students will also practise applying and blending their prosthetic pieces on different skin tones, focusing on realistic placement, seamless edges, colouring techniques, and professional finishing methods for screen ready results.

The 1 Week Casualty Makeup Course introduces students to the fundamentals of casualty and special effects makeup for film, television, and creative media. Throughout the course, students will explore a range of industry techniques including dirty down and character makeup, working with bondo and flat moulds, and creating realistic bruises, cuts, grazes, wounds, scars, burns, and skin disorders.

Students will also learn professional tattoo covering techniques, colour theory for injury simulation, and how to build believable casualty effects with attention to texture, realism, and continuity. This intensive hands on course is designed to develop practical skills, confidence, and a strong foundation in SFX makeup application.

Secrets of a Legend -Exclusive Masterclass with Ve Neill

This exclusive 5 day masterclass with Academy Award-winning makeup artist Ve Neill explores the character and special effects makeup techniques used across some of Hollywood’s most iconic productions. Drawing from decades of industry experience, Ve Neill will guide students through professional methods used in film and television, with a focus on realism, character development, and screen ready finishes.

Throughout the course, students will learn age transformation techniques, including making a model appear both younger and older using makeup, prosthetics, and hair work. The masterclass also covers foam and silicone prosthetic application, blending, colouring techniques using both PAX and alcohol activated paints, and realistic cinematic injury effects with an emphasis on continuity, wound progression, and healing stages for on screen storytelling.
